One such graduate is Athlone native Eoin Mc Cormack who made it onto The Saatchi ‘New Sensations’ long list of artists who were nominated by Saatchi Art curators.

‘New Sensations’ was launched seven years ago to support the most imaginative and talented young artists in the UK and Ireland and to present their work to an international audience. Local artist Eoin, a graduate from Moate Business College went on to study in Limerick School of Art and Design where he achieved a BA (hons) in Fine Art Painting. During his time there he studied in the Munich Academe of Art for 4 months as part of an Erasmus programme and then went on to complete a Masters of Fine Art at the University of Edinburgh.

Another graduate from the college, Amie Egan from Tullamore in Co. Offaly completed her portfolio course in Moate in 2010 and went on to study fashion design at the National College of Art and Design. Last Summer Amie had the opportunity to intern with Leutton Postle, a young knitwear brand in London which inspired her creations and fashion design studies.

This year Amie was the overall winner of the prestigious Persil Irish Fashion Awards. The 23-year-old student won the amazing €10,000 grand prize and her winning “Mother and Child” outfits will be manufactured and sold in selected Dunnes Stores nationwide.

Moate Business College graduate Vincent Devine from Clara after completing his portfolio on the Art and Design course , went on to Athlone Institute of Technology to complete a BA HON’S degree in Visual Communications. Vincent’s abstract portraiture work is rapidly becoming instantly recognisable on the art circuit and celebrity world.

Vincent has had his work featured on “America’s Next Top Model” after model and producer Tyra Banks saw and loved a portrait he completed of her. Vincent was approached by the show to do more portraits of all the models on the series. His work is now being used instead of photographs for the first time as models are voted off the show. Just this week singer Alanis Morissette posted one of Vincent’s portraits of her on her Facebook page with the quote “One of the sweetest birthday presents that I’ve ever received…Thanks Vincent”. Other examples of celebrities featured in Vincent’s work are Lady Ga Ga, Sinéad O’ Connor and Beyoncé. Legendary singer Debbie Harry has also recently purchased his portrait of her. It’s a very exciting time for Vincent with his artistic career flourishing and all at Moate Business College wish him every success.

Over the years hundreds of graduates from the  Art and Design course in Moate Business College have gone on to become successful artists and designers in the areas of Fashion Design, Fine Art, Graphic Design , Animation and Art Education.
