About Moate Business College


Moate Business College provides further education - often referred to as 'post leaving certificate' or 'PLC' courses – to the population of the Irish midlands. From small beginnings in 1991 the college has grown to its current maximum capacity of almost 500 full-time students.

On completion of the Irish Leaving Certificate (end of secondary school examination) or its equivalent, students are entitled to apply to MBC for a place on one of its 12 courses.

We provide courses of one or two years duration. Our principal awarding body is the (Irish) Further Education & Training Awards Council.

A Fetac Level 5 qualification takes one year and a Fetac Level 6 qualification can be secured in a subsequent year on successful completion of the level 5. On completion of the Irish Leaving Certificate (end of secondary school examination) or its equivalent, students are entitled to apply to MBC for a place on one of its 12 courses.

MBC works tirelessly for the benefit of its students and will do it's utmost to provide the best further education possible.

 

 

MBC Forging Links with Athlone Institute of Technology


Moate Business College and Athlone Institute of Technology (AIT) have signed a cooperation agreement which will offer enhanced access and progression for students in the midlands.
Central to the agreement is the commitment to developing enabling modules for further education and training (FET) Level 5 and Level 6 students at Moate Business College which will equip them for progression to AIT Read More....

The Third Level Access Activity is funded by the Irish Government and part funded by the European Social Fund under the Human Capital Investment Operational Programme 2007-2013

News in Brief

An Exhibition of Art Pieces created by current MBC Art students will be shown in the Atrium of Westmeath County Council Buildings from Tuesday 20th to Tuesday 27th January.

MBC's new Part-Time Evening Course Timetable is now available and can be found by following the Part-Time Courses Link above. Registration takes place on Tuesday 13 January with classes commencing the following Monday 19th January.

Check out Operation Transformation which starts back on RTE 1 on Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th January. Moate Busienss College studen Alan Mullen is one of the Leaders on the programme.

Congratulations to NCAD Fashion Student and past student from Moate Business College Art Department 23 years old Amie Egan who has won the final of the 15th Persil Irish Fashion Awards 2014.
