Moate Business College Testimonials -Megan Coffey (Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Administration 2014)

My name is Megan Coffey and I was a student in Moate Business College from 2013 to 2015.  In those two years I successfully completed both the Level 5 Certificate in Media Studies (Creative Media) and the Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Administration with full distinction grades.

As I was quite young when I finished my Leaving Certificate my guidance counsellor recommended that I apply to Moate Business College where I was then accepted into the Media Studies course.  During that year I was able to delve into and develop my creative interests through modules such as Digital Photography, Image Processing, Desktop Publishing and many more.  I happily graduated the year with all eight distinctions and was delighted when I received the Student of the Year Award at my graduation ceremony.

At the end of my first year in MBC I was still undecided on what my next step would be but felt that Business was something I would like to explore.  Luckily for me, it was suggested by the very helpful tutors there that I complete the Level 6 Administration course on offer within the college.  Throughout this year I was given the chance to not only develop a number of practical skills ranging from Typing to Spreadsheets but I also got a basic knowledge of many areas Business and Administration related.  I then came to the decision that I definitely wanted to pursue my interest in Business and the dedication I put into the course over the year was reflected in my results when I achieved all nine distinctions.

I was thrilled when I was offered my first choice on my CAO during the Round 0 offers this summer.  In September I will begin the Level 8 Business & Management Degree in the National University of Ireland, Maynooth.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the tutors and staff at Moate Business College for all their help, commitment and guidance throughout the two years.  I can’t express enough how much I highly recommend the college to anyone considering going there.  I thoroughly enjoyed my two years in MBC, it was not only a stepping stone to where I am now but a place where I met a number of lifelong friends and developed numerous life skills that I am extremely grateful for.
