Moate Business College European Erasmus+ Project 2017
In March of this year, 24 of our students travelled to locations in Italy and Romania to take part in the European Union Sponsored Erasmus+ Project. This programme involved the students undertaking a 3 week work placement abroad in their chosen field (nursing, social care, childcare, art & design, administration and computers), while integrating into the local community as much as possible. As well as taking part in the work placement, participants also had the opportunity to enjoy leisure activities including trips to Turin, skiing, camping, bicycle rides in the mountains and attending the ballet.
The programme enabled participants to reflect on challenges and opportunities in their chosen vocational sector globally and nationally, including the impact of challenges and opportunities on personal career choice and direction. It also allowed them to practice effective communication methods in the workplace e.g. personal, interpersonal, technological etc. and gave them an insight into how standards of living vary within the EU.
The project exposed the students to work placements and situations which they would not otherwise have had the opportunity to experience.
Congratulations to our students who participated in the project and represented MBC in such an exemplary manner.
