Welcome to Moate Business College Adult Education page. We run a range of classes, covering a wide variety of subject areas, during our Autumn and Spring terms. Whether you want to learn a new skill, gain a qualification, take up a new hobby, meet new people, we have a class to suit you.

What does the course involve?

Bridge is fun, which is one of the many reasons to learn the game.  It offers the suspense of poker, the cerebral qualities of chess and the excitement of athletic sports, all in a social setting where you’re a participant, not just a spectator. Bridge is social.  A game of bridge involves communication and cooperation with your partner and interaction with the opponents.

What does the course involve?

This exclusive six week makeup course is designed to teach you practical and trend makeup starting with learning the key principles of prepping the skin, colour correcting the skin tone, contouring, highlighting, brows and a selection of different eye makeup looks including liquid eyeliner and occasional false eyelashes.  Each week the tutor will demo a makeup look and talk through each step, sharing 14 years of knowledge working in the Beauty and Makeup industry.  You will then get to recreate the look on yourself with the tutor’s assistance.

What does the course involve?

This course will give you an insight into the world of sports science from preparation of athletes, to the types of fitness testing and exercise prescription, performance analysis to recovery and injury prevention.

What does the course involve?

This component module will prepare the student with the knowledge, skills and competence in the principles and practices required to be an effective special needs assistant.  Topics include the historical context of special needs in Ireland, the role and responsibilities of the special needs assistant, the rights of children with special needs, as well as ways to support children with special needs in a range of activities, ensuring equality of opportunity.

What does this course involve?

What does this course involve?

This is a hands on leisure class, where students will learn about all the materials and products needed to make beautiful flower arrangements.  Content will include learning about hardware, foraging for greenery, conditioning flowers to ensure longer life and different types of display. This course is suitable for beginners who want to try their hand at working with flowers.

  • Fees are payable in full on enrolment. Fees can be paid through cash or cheques. We are unable to accept debit or credit card payments at this time.
  • Smoking on College premises is prohibited.
  • Moate Business College does not accept responsibility for property
    damaged or mislaid on the premises.
  • Participants must be over 16 years of age.
  • Materials may need to be bought for some courses
  • Please note that classes may fill before enrolment night.  Places are
    strictly filled on a first come; first served basis. Book early to avoid
    disappointment. Enrol now through postal enrolment to secure your
    place.
  • Classes will only run if there are sufficient participants – bring a friend!

Refunds of Fees

  • Fees will be refunded where a course does not take place
  • All requests for refunds of fees must be made in writing to the
    Director of Adult Education

cheque which should be made payable to (Moate Business College)
Enrolment/Registration Night: dates will be clearly outlined on the
Autumn/Spring brochures. Payment by cash and cheque only.
