Moate Business College European Erasmus+ Project 2019
Between February and April 2019, 32 of our students travelled to locations in Italy, Spain, Lithuania and Romania to take part in the European Union Sponsored Erasmus+ Project. This programme involved the students undertaking a 3 week work placement abroad in their chosen field (nursing, social care, childcare, art & design, tourism, administration and computers), while integrating into the local community as much as possible. As well as taking part in the work placement, participants also had the opportunity to enjoy leisure activities including trips to Milan, skiing and site-seeing in their different locations.
The programme enabled participants to reflect on challenges and opportunities in their chosen vocational sector globally and nationally, including the impact of challenges and opportunities on personal career choice and direction. It also allowed them to practice effective communication methods in the workplace e.g. personal, interpersonal, technological etc. and gave them an insight into how standards of living vary within the EU.
The project exposes the students to work placements and situations which they would not otherwise have had the opportunity to experience.
To document their trips, each set of students has kept a record of their experiences in a blog. To discover more about their travels click onto the locations below to read the blog entries:
