Nursing Studies (Course Code: 5M4349) QQI Level 5

Aims

This one-year Level 5 programme is designed to prepare students for every aspect of a career in Nursing. Through a combination of classroom learning and practical experience, students gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to succeed in this rewarding profession.

The course offers a diverse range of modules alongside a valuable work placement component, giving students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a healthcare setting of their choice under professional supervision. This practical element allows students to apply their learning in real-world environments.

In addition to career preparation, the programme supports students in progressing to further and higher education. Dedicated guidance is provided for interviews, CAO and UCAS applications, and progression pathways. The college has also developed strong links with colleges and institutions across Ireland and the UK, creating excellent opportunities for continued study and career advancement.

This programme is ideal for students who are passionate about caring for others and who wish to take the first step towards a successful career in Nursing or the wider healthcare sector.

Entry Requirements

• Leaving Certificate Standard or QQI Level 4
  • English language requirement of a B2.2 standard where English is not your first language
  • Basic I.T. Skills required

Successful completion of the course will allow the student progression to General (RGN), Psychiatric (RPN), Intellectual Disability (RND), Children’s Nursing (RGN), Midwifery (RM) and Paramedic courses both in Ireland and the UK. Students may also progress to:
