Moate Business College European Erasmus+ Project 2020
Between February and March 2020, 24 of our students travelled to locations in Spain and Romania to take part in the European Union Sponsored Erasmus+ Project. This programme involved the students undertaking a 3 week work placement abroad in their chosen field (nursing, social care, childcare, art & design, tourism, administration and computers), while integrating into the local community as much as possible. As well as taking part in the work placement, participants also had the opportunity to enjoy leisure activities including trips to Transylvania , skiing and site-seeing in their different locations.
The programme enabled participants to reflect on challenges and opportunities in their chosen vocational sector globally and nationally, including the impact of challenges and opportunities on personal career choice and direction. It also allowed them to practice effective communication methods in the workplace e.g. personal, interpersonal, technological etc. and gave them an insight into how standards of living vary within the EU.
The project exposes the students to work placements and situations which they would not otherwise have had the opportunity to experience.
The photo montages show some of the scenes from these placements.
