The Access to Post-Primary Teaching (APT) Project is a joint initiative between the National University of Ireland Galway, St. Angela’s College, Sligo and a number of Further Education Institutions, which aims to recruit and educate individuals from underrepresented groups who are interested in becoming post-primary school teachers.
The APT Project is actively reaching out to students who are interested becoming secondary school teachers, and who are currently attending one of the following select QQI-FET Level 5/6 programmes at Moate Business College –a) 5M2009: Early Childhood Care & Education or b) 5M2181: Social Studies.
Up to a total of 10 places will be reserved in St. Angela’s ITE programmes for FE students from different institutions who are interested in participating in the APT Project. Courses available are:
- 1. AS001–Home Economics & Biology Second Level Teaching
- 2. AS002–Home Economics & Religious Education Second Level Teaching
- 3. AS003–Home Economics & Irish Second Level Teaching
